Slow cooker

For shredded roast, Use Slow Cooker

  • Place roast in medium or large slow cooker, add 1 cup of water, and cover.
  • Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours, or high heat for 3-4 hours. Internal temperature in the thickest part of the roast should reach 155ºF.
  • Remove from slow cooker and let stand 10 minutes before pulling, slicing, or serving.
Oven
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place roast in a shallow roasting pan. (For easy cleanup, line pan with foil.)
  • Cover and bake for 15-20 minutes per pound. Internal temperature in the thickest part of the roast should reach 155°F.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before pulling, slicing, or serving.
